Sun-soaked Queensland is full of fun attractions, so find the best things to do on the Gold Coast before you arrive to be sure your holiday is the best it can be.
Jump in a hot air balloon
Hot air ballooning is popular all over the world, but the experience of hot air ballooning over the Gold Coast is unique.
Nowhere else will you get such amazing views of the city, the hinterlands, and the sea. Head up at sunrise and watch the sun climb the sky, illuminating the waters underneath you.
Go to Dracula’s
One of the longest-running Gold Coast attractions, and for good reason. Dracula’s is a cabaret restaurant that includes a dinner with a show.
The food and the show are coordinated, for a consistent and multi-sensory experience, and both change frequently so even if you’ve been before, you could return for a whole new experience. The show is always spooky and is rated MA15+, a fun night out for mature audiences.
Dracula’s is a tribute to the B-grade horror movies of the past, a self-deprecating evening of fun—watch acrobatic performances, singing, comedy, and more.
Check out the glow worms
Glow worms might not seem like the most exciting thing to do but walking through a glow worm cave feels like being on an alien planet. The world heritage-listed Springrbrook National Park is home to a thriving collection of creatures that light up in the dark.
There are plenty of tours to join if you want an experienced guide to walk you through the caves. Within the caves are cascading waterfalls, lit up by the bioluminescent glow worms.
Leave the torch at home to avoid scaring the little creatures as that can stop them from glowing.
Visit the markets
The Gold Coast is home to several markets, each offering something unique. The Green Marquee markets focus on sustainable, handmade, eco, and natural items. You can buy art, fashion, and homewares while enjoying good food and live music and entertainment.
The Miami Marketta is a night market full of street food as well as live performances from local and international musicians and comedians.
The Palm Beach Currumbin Farmer’s Markets are the spot to visit if you want to find local produce.
There are so many more markets, these are just the beginning and if you love shopping local, visiting a market or two is one of the best things to do on the Gold Coast.
