If you’re looking for hotels at any of them check out Elegant Resorts for some great luxury accommodation.

Saint Moritz

One of the best places to go not just for ski but for sun too! With altitudes between 1,800 and 3,30 metres snow is pretty much guaranteed up here. The resort boasts over 217 miles (350km) of piste slopes and has some of the latest equipment to get you to the top quickly too. St. Moritz has been a winter mecca for some 150 years now and there’s a fantastic array options for both skiers and snowboarders. Carving runs, free ride slopes, large nursery slopes for beginners and even a glacier downhill run for the more experienced.

St Moritz resort is made up for 3 villages that sit next to the shore of the lake in the Engadin valley in the south of Switzerland. Its been the playground of the rich and famous for decades now and has seen hollywood stars, politicians and royalty all visit to take in the sights and hit the slopes. Shopping in the villages will require a sizeable wallet as you’ll find no shortage of boutiques and famous luxury names interspersed with 5 star restaurants and cocktail bars. Where to ski in Switzerland

The 4 valleys of Switzerland make up the largest portion of ski options in Switzerland, with the resort of Verbier right at the heart of the action. The vibe here is a little different to that of Saint Moritz, with a younger more energetic atmosphere. The Swiss love to visit here and thanks to some fantastic roads its easily accessible from Geneva Airport too. With plenty of flights from the UK and beyond its become a popular ski resort with Brits and its easy to see why. With over 248 miles of ski runs easily accessible thanks to nearly 100 ski lifts, you get a lot of snow for you money here. There’s also plenty of off-piste options for the more advanced. The views here are just as spectacular as the skiing too. From the top of Mont Fort, some 3,330 metres up you can see as far as Mont Blanc and the Matterhorn. Quite a view from quite a height! The slopes are wide ranging and you’ll find something here for all levels too. The more challenging runs are often used for world championship events too. The Apres Ski here is second to none, with some lively bars and nightclubs that’ll keep you going to the small hours. Don’t expect any rest in Vabier, go with the flow and make the most of your ski holiday there. Definitely suited to the younger and young at heart. Check out
4 valley swiss skiing

One of the most famous ski resorts in Switzerland, a lot has been invested in the last decade to make this one of the most modern ski facilities in the country. The runs connect three peaks together with the highest altitude at 3,820 metres. The views of the Matterhorn here are truly epic and you can view up to 38 summits poking out through the clouds, some reaching 4,000 metres. There’s a mixture of easily accessible runs as well as more challenging pistes further afield, some of which require a fair amount of effort to get to but the rewards are there for those that dare. The resort town is a car free zone so the atmosphere here is relaxed and quiet too. It’s a great place for families especially those of differing skill levels and they guarantee snow from December to the end of April, so if you can’t want until the new year to hit the slopes this may be the best choice for you. Be warned Zermatt is one of the more expensive ski resorts in the country but there are still some competitively priced hotels in town, just expect to pay a little extra for a rather expensive ski lift pass. Worth noting that under 10s ski for free so that should help your budget a little. Cheek out
