A Campervan festival in Brighton

Brighton Breeze has been going for a good few years now and it never ceases to amaze me. Its a festival that celebrates the glorious VW camper van. Hundreds of vans converge at Brighton in England and park up near the famous Palace Pier.
Their is a mix of split screen and bay camper vans, new and old, immaculate and ratty along with cool and cute.
It takes about two hours to walk all the way along and back, it feels like and endless collection of them. There are a few beetles thrown in and this year there was a classic Porsche for good measure. If your lover of the split screen like I am it’s quite awe inspiring to see so many of these vehicles still going strong. Each of them seem to tell a story, some are done up to the nines and laid out with a classic English tea set, some are ratty and have a surf board or three thrown on the top with a mattress in the back. Its brilliant to think of
the adventures these buses must have been on.
If you are an enthusiast with your own camper van, you’d be mad not to take part , but if your camper dream is still a work in progress there are a number of stalls for you to barter for that particular part you’ve been after for years!
A panel of experts judge various categories and you can seek out the winners by spotting their rosettes. I think its all so subjective as each of them are personalised and adapted to suit their owners
Fancy a part of the VW Camper Van lifestyle? Touring a country in your own 4 wheeled classic van! Well these days it doesn’t come cheap! Even a basic split screen bus will set you back £15,000 and if you fancy a real show stopper you could shell out upwards of £40,000.
Every time I see one, I cant help but hope… one day.
