Heather is a 30-year old career breaker who quit her job as a career counselor to head Down Under on the Work & Holiday Visa. After years of encouraging university students to pursue their interests and passions, she decided to take her own advice and make a dream of long-term travel a reality.
Heather's previous travels include Ireland, Germany, London, Toronto, Barcelona, Paris, and Istanbul. Topping her list of "where to next" are India and SE Asia, and she would like to eventually touch all seven continents.
No matter where her travels may take her, Heather calls Virginia, USA home. It has beaches, mountains, big cities, and small towns. It's where many of her family and friends live. And from two of its state universities, Heather earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Master of Arts in Education.
Her top moments in Oz include attending Aussie sporting events, diving at the Great Barrier Reef, exploring the Outback on a 6-day trip, making a brief appearance in a documentary about her favorite pastry chef, hosting visitors from the USA, and developing new friendships both with Aussies and fellow travelers. When Heather wasn't busy exploring new restaurants and cafes in Sydney, she worked at an organic food store. Now that she's back home in the USA, she plans to find new work opportunities that will allow more time for travel.
