As we’ve mentioned before we love meetups! Some of the most inspired ideas and connections have been created by meeting face to face with fellow travel bloggers, marketeers and people in the travel industry. We’ve been hosting meetups for over a year, starting in London and now we’re hosting them in Singapore.
We’ve also been at the Web In Travel conference which has been very enlightening. Starting on the 17th October, it gave us a great opportunity to invite to our informal networking event, many local and international delegates at the WIT conference 2011.
Suntec City in Singapore is a large convention centre with a food court, shopping mall and some bars too! Perfect for a long day of conference talks on internet startups followed by an evening with the Travel Massive at Harry’s Bar just a 2 minute walk inside the Suntec complex.
For our second Travel Massive event in Singapore it was a fantastic turn-out, over 40 followers of the Travel Massive on twitter and delegates from the conference attended and soon took over the entire bar! Our generous sponsors World Nomads bought everyone their first drink of the evening and there were some lively debates on the day’s conference talks and personal opinions on the state of the online travel industry.
Here’s a short video featuring @aussie_ian, @travelwithamate, @axk and @flocations
Everyone had a great night and I must say a big thank you to World Nomads, Web In Travel and Harry’s Bar for their help with the event.
